Dr Verstappen is married and he has two children.
Before his GP training, dr Verstappen completed his education for sports physician at the University of Utrecht.
After he completed his GP training at the University of Leiden in 1995, dr Verstappen founded the Sweelinckplein Health Centre in the district Duinoord at the Haque.
Doctor Verstappen has become a leading experienced general practitioner in the Hague.
A personal approach, involvement with each patient, continuity and open communication are important features. And supported by good medical knowledge and skills.
Due to his sports medicine background, doctor Verstappen has special affinity for orthopedics, cardiology, preventive care, student care and sports medicine.
He is specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
Doctor Verstappen is currently working as GP and Chief Medical Officer of TeamNL (Dutch Olympic Team).
He is also a member of the Olympic Medical Panel (NOC * NSF), federal physician of the Dutch Ski Association and member of the medical staff of the Netherlands Dance Theater.
From 1996 - 2008 Dr. Verstappen was the team physician of the men’s Dutch National Hockeyteam.
Finally, dr Verstappen is co-author of the medical books "Small ailments in the general practice" and "Small ailments in children."
